حِن تجربة تطرح أسئلة: هل نستطيع تحقيق ربح دون تقديم تنازلات للرأسمالية؟ هل يمكننا تحويل كل النقاشات النظرية حول حقوق العمال، والشفافية، والتعاون، والتنظيم الذاتي، والاستقلالية التي أجريناها على مدى الخمسة عشر عاماً الماضية إلى ممارسة فعلية؟ وإذا فشلت التجربة، هل من وسيلة لتحويلها إلى دروس مستفادة للتجربة القادمة؟ هل يمكننا التعلم من تجارب الآخرين الذين يمارسون هذا الأمر منذ قرون، ونطبقها في سياقاتنا دون مساومة؟

حِن تجربة في التوثيق، نتساءل من خلالها عن إمكانية تمثيل أو إبراز بعض السرديات والتجارب والجماليات الخاصة التي قد تمثل مجموعة من الأفراد والمجموعات تلاقت حياتهم في فترة زمنية معينة. يجبرنا هذا الحلم على التساؤل حول توثيق رواياتنا مع مقاومة الرغبة في سرد قصص ليست قصصنا؟ هل نستطيع إنشاء أُطُر للتعاون مع الفنانين، والصانعين، والفاعلين من أصحاب القصص الجديرة بالرواية؟

حِن تجربة تستكشف التمثيل الشخصي والجيلِي من خلال الحلي والدروع، كما هو الحال مع الوشوم والندوب. عناصر تروي أجزاءً من قصة، قد تُشكِّل معًا شيئًا ذا معنى. تطرح حِن جماليات من وحي التجربة و من خلال رحلة استكشاف التصاميم من منظور عربي، وشمال أفريقي، وجنوب غرب آسيوي، دون محاولة الارتباط بجماليات استعمارية أو استشراقية، أو الرجوع إلى التصاميم التقليدية الجامدة.

Hinnnn is an experiment that poses questions:Are we able to generate profit without making concessions to capitalism? Are we able to turn all the theoretical discussions on workers rights, transparency, cooperation, self organization, independence that we’ve been having for the past 15 years into actual practice? If the experiment fails, can we then turn our experience into lessons learned for the next experiment? Can we learn from the experiences of those who have done this shit for centuries and apply it to our context without compromise?

Hinnnn is an experiment in documentation. Are we able to document, represent, and highlight some of the narratives, experiences and aesthetics of a specific group in a specific temporal moment? How can we document our narratives while resisting the urge to tell other peoples’ stories? Hin is a journey to create a framework that engages with artists, makers, actors, for those with stories worth telling.

Hinnnn is an experiment in exploring personal and generational representation through jewelry and armor, through tattoos and scars. All elements that tell parts of a story that perhaps together can honestly capture the essence of people who’ve lived differently. Hinnnn explores designs from Arab, North African and Southwest Asian heritages while steering away from colonial and/or orientalist depictions of their aesthetics and without falling back on rigid traditional artistry
